Green Street Photo Collective Opens 'Phobias' Exhibition in Jamaica Plain
Opening on October 2 at the Green Street Photo Collective in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, “Phobias” is a month-long exhibition designed to document fear in various forms. Co-founder Erin Clark notes that the show will include everything from concrete phobias to more conceptual representations. Nature photographer Billy Hickey, who has a longstanding arachnophobia, is collaborating on this project. Submissions, which can include up to five photos per entry at no cost (though donations are encouraged), will be accepted until September 21. Generative AI images are excluded from the show. Clark reassures that submissions don’t need to be flawless, as the collective will handle the printing of chosen works. Notably, she has received the Photographer of the Year award from Pictures of the Year International for three years in a row.
