Graham Gingles Makes Spanish Debut at Blacklight Art Gallery with Daughter Lisa

Blacklight Art Gallery in Valencia presents 'Gingles & Gingles: Conversations', marking the first exhibition in Spain of Northern Irish artist Graham Gingles. Born in 1943, Gingles is a prominent figure in the Irish art scene and a member of the Royal Ulster Academy. His work, spanning painting, drawing, and sculpture, is characterized by mysterious, symbolic, and narrative-driven worlds. The exhibition also features works by his daughter, Lisa Gingles, a Valencia-based artist known for her drawings, collages, and sculptures that explore hybrid figures, masks, and dreamlike landscapes, drawing on mythology, folklore, travel, and memory. The show, running from September 4 to October 2, 2026, presents a dialogue between two generations, highlighting their shared fascination with the strange, symbolic, and fantastic, while each maintains a distinct artistic universe. Graham Gingles's works are part of public collections, including the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA). This exhibition underscores Blacklight Art Gallery's commitment to expanding its program into figurative and contemporary art, bringing international artists to Valencia.
