GoodOne Future Timber Architecture Design Competition 2026 Opens Registration Until October 23

The second edition of the GoodOne Future Timber Architecture Design Competition is accepting registrations until October 23, 2026, at 12:00 noon. Organized by Hefei Jiuwucang Architectural Assembly Technology Co., Ltd., Z/S Studio, and Luxelakes A8 Design Center, the competition is themed 'A fantastic journey inward' and invites architects, designers, and creative professionals from around the world and various disciplines to participate. The competition aims to explore new challenges and the growing need for a 'new architecture' as timber architecture transcends traditional residential and rural settings to find new applications in urban regeneration, commercial spaces, public activities, and daily life. Three principal judges have been announced: Liu Jiakun, founder and principal architect of Jiakun Architects; Dong Gong, founder and design director of Vector Architects and foreign member of the French Academy of Architecture; and Luo Yujie, founder of LUO studio. In interviews, the judges share their perspectives on bamboo and wood, small-scale architecture, public space, construction principles, and long-term building operation, drawing from their respective design experiences.
