Gohar World and Asics Unveil Surrealist Gel-DS Trainer SP Collaboration

Sisters Laila and Nadia Gohar, founders of the cult brand Gohar World, have partnered with sportswear giant Asics to release a limited-edition shoe, the Gohar World x Asics Gel-DS Trainer SP. The design merges the aesthetics of a mid-2000s track spike with a laced-up ballet slipper, featuring Asics' proprietary Gel technology in the rearfoot and carbon-reinforced Trusstic support in the arch. The shoe includes quirky Gohar World signatures such as a quartet of charms, one shaped like a chicken foot, and stainless steel 'piercings' on the black mesh upper. Laila Gohar, a former Wallpaper* guest editor, stated the goal was to create a shoe practical for daily wear from morning markets to evening gatherings, yet beautiful and fun. The collaboration follows Gohar World's known surrealist designs, including lace-trimmed dishwashing gloves and trompe l'oeil bean plates. The shoe is available now, with images credited to Hugo Yu.
