Gogal Brings 'Atrófica 2.0' to Barcelona's Galeria Sergi Sánchez in First Spanish Solo Show
In September, the Galeria Sergi Sánchez in Barcelona hosted 'Atrófica 2.0,' the inaugural exhibition of Salvadoran artist Óscar López, also known as Gogal. This exhibition will be open until October 30. Gogal, who was born in San Salvador in 1982, embarked on his artistic journey in 2006 at the Metamorfosis academy. His artwork, which has been showcased in countries such as El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, the U.S., Italy, and Japan, explores themes of urban landscapes and memory, often infused with pop culture elements. The Barcelona exhibition presents twelve new canvas pieces and ten works on paper, illustrating urban chaos and transformation, featuring iconic characters from video games and cartoons that challenge the idea of permanence in city evolution.
