GNAMC Brings 60+ Female Portraits from Van Gogh to Modigliani to Parma's Palazzo del Governatore
From October 2, 2026, to March 8, 2027, the Palazzo del Governatore in Parma will host "Lei. Ritratti di donne da Van Gogh a Modigliani e oltre," showcasing more than sixty pieces from the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Roma across thirteen rooms. Curated by Renata Cristina Mazzantini and Cesare Biasini Selvaggi, the exhibition features notable works such as Vincent van Gogh's Madame Ginoux, Marchesa Casati by Giovanni Boldini, and Amedeo Modigliani's Hanka Zborowska. Additionally, it includes pieces by artists like Antonio Mancini, Pablo Picasso, and Gustav Klimt, along with a focus on female artists. This event also reflects on Italy's history between the two world wars and marks the 80th anniversary of women's suffrage in the country.
