Glee Reboot Confirmed by Disney and Hulu as Ryan Murphy Completes Script
On Wednesday, Disney and Hulu revealed that Ryan Murphy, alongside Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, has penned a reboot script for Glee. The beloved musical comedy, which won an Emmy, debuted on Fox in 2009 and concluded in 2015, centering on the choir members of McKinley High in Ohio. Murphy has reached out to approximately 10 members of the original cast, who are excited but have yet to see the script. Lea Michele voiced her enthusiasm, while Chris Colfer acknowledged the difficulties of reviving the show following Naya Rivera's passing in 2020 at the age of 33. The original ensemble featured Amber Riley, Jane Lynch, and Matthew Morrison. The series revived classic songs and held a concert tour in 2010, with a recent mini reunion at London's Royal Albert Hall.
