Glasstire's Top Five Texas Art Events: July 23, 2026

Glasstire's weekly roundup highlights five art events across Texas. At the Amarillo Museum of Art, "MAIN STRƎƎT: The Lost Dream of Route 66" features Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Edward Keating's 11-year documentation of the iconic highway, accompanied by his book (Damiani, 2018) now in second printing. In Laredo, "Yonke EncontraDOS" at the Laredo Center for the Arts presents South Texas artists Ruben Luna (Gacho Style) and Gil Rocha, exploring rasquache aesthetics through collaborative sculptures made from locally sourced materials. San Antonio's Beacon at Midtown hosts "Celeste De Luna: The Printmakers Process," an exhibition demystifying printmaking by displaying drawings, wood matrices, and misprints. Abilene's Center for Contemporary Arts opens "Thomas Lee: Creatures of the Clouds, Wildlife of the Ecuadorian Andes," a photographic survey of Andean mammals and landscapes from 23 years of research. Finally, 7 Moons Media Studios in Richardson presents "xtine burrough: Remix the Archive," reinterpreting archival images from the Library of Congress and New York Public Library through analog, digital, and AI processes.
