Glass House by Charlene Koetz Arquitetura: A Transparent Retreat in Vila Prinstrop

The Glass House, designed by Charlene Koetz Arquitetura, is a residential project located in Vila Prinstrop, Brazil. With a completion year of 2026, the 455 m² house exemplifies contemporary architecture with a strong horizontal expression, featuring a large cantilevered roof that appears to float over the volumes, creating protected outdoor areas. The design contrasts natural stone volumes that anchor the structure to the ground with extensive glazed surfaces that dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, fostering a direct connection with the landscape. Lead architect Charlene Koetz headed the project, with project team member Caroline Schilling, coordination by Domi Müller and Liege Leiser, and engineering consulting from Tieppo Aquecimento, Fixa Vidros, Elevato Acabamentos, and Pedras Xangri-Lá. Landscaping was handled by Via Garden Paisagismo, and general construction by Construtora Schwarzbold Ltda.
