Glasgow-Set Romcom 'Premature' Hits Cinemas with Micro-Budget
Next Friday, UK audiences will see the romantic comedy 'Premature', marking Kevin Walls's first venture as a director. Filmed entirely in Glasgow, the movie features James Rottger and Elle Watson as the mismatched flatmates Cameron and Eilidh, who navigate an unexpected pregnancy following a one-night encounter. Watson, hailing from Scotstoun, is making her debut on the big screen, while Rottger has credits in 'Gary: Tank Commander', 'Irish Wish', and 'A Hot Cocoa Christmas'. The film showcases authentic Glasgow settings and was produced on a budget smaller than typical Hollywood films. Walls financed part of the release via Kickstarter and took on extra work. Both actors highlight the uniqueness of genuine Glasgow representations. 'Premature' is a pivotal achievement for Scottish independent cinema.
