Glasgow School of Art architecture students present flood-resilient infrastructure and more

The Mackintosh School of Architecture (MSA) at Glasgow School of Art has showcased nine student projects spanning Stages 3, 4, and 5. The projects operate across the Scottish Highlands, Glasgow, and Copenhagen, addressing ecology, memory, public life, and production. Stage 3 projects include Sophie Wilson's 'Banquo's Walk' (a cob observation structure referencing Celtic mythology), Madeleine Ernst's 'The Procession' (a burial ground on Eilean Munde in Loch Leven), and Cameron Lawrence's 'What Lies Beneath' (a seismic activity alert structure on the Great Glen Fault). Stage 4 projects include Ailsa Hutton's 'The People's Framework' (addressing digital disconnection in Glasgow), Owen Hourston's 'GATE' (a civic platform on the Broomielaw influenced by Édouard François and Rachel Whiteread), and Eilidh Duffy's 'Let People Make Glasgow' (a civic building inspired by Ivan Illich). Stage 5 projects include Harrison Cameron Barr's 'Supercomputer Institution' (inspired by Le Corbusier's 'Endless Museum'), Marcus Arbon's 'Toward a Post-Secular Numinousity' (set in the fire-damaged Børsen in Copenhagen, informed by Kierkegaard), and Rachel Houston's 'Fælles Vand' (a flood-resilient infrastructure network for Copenhagen informed by Richard Sennett's seed-planning). The projects were presented as part of a partnership between Dezeen and Glasgow School of Art.
