Gjergji Shkurti Designs Million Goods' Fort Greene Outpost with Bar, Retail, and Hi-Fi
In Fort Greene, Brooklyn, architect Gjergji Shkurti of Figure Ground has finalized the second Million Goods location. Co-founders Matt Reyer and Drew Kaufmann selected a two-story structure on DeKalb Street that was formerly a design studio. This new establishment includes a wine bar, retail areas, and a high-quality sound system, with social spaces located on the ground floor and retail above. A striking red spiral staircase, designed by Wood Steel Stone, can be seen from outside. The bar features a countertop made of Breccia Pernice stone, while Bridge Street Sound provided the audio system. The backyard showcases Brazilian brutalism with integrated seating and a central planter. The facade was restored with the approval of local preservation authorities. Photography by Joe Thomas.
