Giuseppe Migneco's Civil Engagement in Painting at Villa Bertelli

A dossier exhibition titled 'Migneco. Realtà e visione' dedicated to Giuseppe Migneco (Messina, 1903 – Milan, 1997) is on view at Villa Bertelli in Forte dei Marmi. Curated by Elena Pontiggia and promoted by the Municipality of Forte dei Marmi and the Fondazione Villa Bertelli, the show features 22 paintings from 1939 to 1988. Migneco's work focuses on the marginalized and the alienated, depicting the harsh realities of daily life with expressive color and line. The exhibition traces his career from his involvement with the 'Corrente' movement in Milan to his later works, highlighting his connection to Forte dei Marmi, where he spent summers from 1957 in a studio in Vittoria Apuana. The painting 'I pescatori', donated to the municipality in 1997, has been restored for the show and will remain permanently at Villa Bertelli. The exhibition runs until September 27, 2026, at Sala Ferrario, Museo Quarto Platano, Villa Bertelli.
