Giant Alebrijes Land in Houston's Discovery Green for Hispanic Heritage Month
Beginning September 15, Discovery Green in Houston will host an exhibit titled *Fantastic Animals from México: Alebrijes and Nahuales*, showcasing stunning twenty-foot alebrije sculptures made by eight Mexican artists, celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month. This tribute honors Pedro Linares, who invented these fantastical beings. His grandson, Leonardo Linares, will present two pieces crafted in traditional papier-mâché. Other contributors, including Margarito Melchor and Efrain Fuentes, will also display vibrant figures. The exhibition lasts until October 18, with a launch event on September 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. Additionally, children's workshops will take place on September 19 and 26.
