Ghislaine Leung Stops Cleaning at Fundació Joan Miró's Espai 13

British artist Ghislaine Leung (b. 1980) presents 'Mantenimiento' at Espai 13 of Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, running until October 18, 2026. The exhibition is part of the cycle 'de las 18.12 a las 17.48', curated by Alejandro Alonso Díaz, which explores invisible dimensions of energy. Following previous shows by Huaqian Zhang and Michael Kleine, Leung's project halts all cleaning of the gallery space for its duration, allowing dust and traces to accumulate as a conceptual statement on maintenance labor. The exhibition also includes works 'Presupuestos' and 'Edició FJM', which incorporate the institution's internal economic data. Leung's practice uses written scores or instructions that adapt to each venue, making material, economic, and institutional conditions part of the artwork. She imposes personal sustainability criteria on travel and production. Based in London, Leung has had solo exhibitions in Basel, Chicago, New York, Brussels, Milan, Stuttgart, and Copenhagen.
