Germany Pavilion at 2027 Venice Architecture Biennale to Explore Democracy Through 'CONVIVERE'
The German Pavilion at the 20th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia in 2027 will be curated by Kawahara Krause Architects, along with Andres Lepik and Olga Cobuscean, as announced by Germany's Federal Ministry for Housing. The exhibition is titled "CONVIVERE — A Repertoire of Living Together" and will delve into intermediate housing spaces as venues for fostering coexistence, tackling issues of social isolation and political division. Hamburg-based Kawahara Krause Architects will lead the project, showcasing German housing designs that encourage social interaction. Co-curators Lepik and Cobuscean possess strong backgrounds in architectural history and theory. Collaboration with students from four German universities is also planned. The Biennale is scheduled from May 8 to November 21, 2027, with previews on May 6 and 7.
