Gerald Ferguson's 1990s Conceptual Works at COOPER COLE

In Toronto, COOPER COLE showcases a posthumous solo exhibition of Gerald Ferguson, featuring pieces from the early to mid-1990s. Ferguson's innovative use of materials like house paint, construction items, and organic elements led to the creation of systems that prioritized repetition and process rather than conventional composition. Ferguson (1937-2009) was a multifaceted conceptual artist, painter, writer, curator, collector, and a professor for nearly forty years at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. He was also featured in the influential 1970 exhibition "Information" at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and received the Canada Council for the Arts Molson Prize in 1995. His estate is managed by Olga Korper Gallery in Toronto and CANADA in New York.
