Georgia Merritt's Refrain Brings Faux-Marble Furniture to M Kardana on Hackney Road
From October 9 to 31, 2026, M Kardana, located at 188A Hackney Road in east London, will showcase five sculptural furniture pieces by Georgia Merritt as part of the exhibition titled Refrain. This marks Merritt's second solo exhibition at the antiques shop, following her 2023 show, Vague Precision. The featured works consist of a full-length black lacquer mirror, hand-painted birchwood doors mounted on a mirror, a curved sapele bench, a low glass table topped with an ivory silk canopy, and a hand-formed wire lamp. Merritt characterizes her creations as ambiguous blends of furniture, sculpture, and interior design concepts. She gained recognition as an emerging talent during Dezeen's London Design Festival Dispatch and took part in the Max Radford Gallery's presentation at Collect in February.
