Georgia Gardner Gray's 'Stones' at Museum der Moderne Salzburg

Georgia Gardner Gray (b. 1988, New York) presents 'Stones,' a solo exhibition at Museum der Moderne Salzburg, Austria, from July 3 to October 4, 2026, as part of the experimental GENERATOR series. The show features eight oil-on-canvas paintings from 2026, all inspired by Stonehenge. Gray's vibrant, hyper-visible works juxtapose the ancient mystery of the megaliths with contemporary digital culture, depicting selfie-like scenes and intimate moments. The exhibition includes photographs, lithographs, and sculptures from the museum's collections and the Austrian Federal Photography Collection, featuring works by Iris Andraschek, Lovis Corinth, and Leo Zogmayer. Curated by Marijana Schneider, the show explores how we perceive historical artifacts through a modern lens. Gray, who studied at the Cooper Union, works in painting, sculpture, and performance, and has exhibited internationally at Kunsthalle Lingen, Kunstnernes Hus Oslo, and Regen Projects Los Angeles.
