Gauguin Interpretation Centre Opens in Clohars-Carnoët by Modal and Quartz Architecture

The Interpretation Centre Gauguin, l’Atelier du Pouldu, recently opened its doors in Clohars-Carnoët, France, thanks to the efforts of Modal Architecture and Quartz Architecture. This cultural hub covers an area of 1,000 m² and pays homage to the legacy of Paul Gauguin and other artists who lived in Le Pouldu during the late 1800s. The design reflects the spirit of the old Buvette de la Plage, where Gauguin and his contemporaries worked, while also creating a contemporary space for a diverse audience. Gwendal Hervé led the architectural team, working alongside Jérôme Jégado and Monique Bastos. Hadir Al Koshta curated the project, supported by La Fabrique Créative for engineering and Eric Sueur for photography. Key partners included Interface, Weber Saint-Gobain, and Wever & Ducré Lightning.
