Gary Hume's paintings transformed into limited-edition furniture for Giobagnara
Giobagnara launches its Art Editions collection at Milan Design Week 2026, featuring 13 pieces by Gary Hume that translate his paintings into functional objects. The line includes boxes, trays, vases, room dividers, and a bar cabinet, all crafted from solid aluminium with leather inlays. Works such as the 'American Tan' series, 'Night Watch', 'The Cleric', and 'Archipelago' (inspired by migrant lifejackets) are reimagined. Curator Nick Vinson selected images from Hume's archive. The collection also includes leather designs by Martino Gamper. Each object is signed and limited to an edition of 12. Giobagnara founder Giorgio Bagnara, a Genovese with a family retail background, started the brand in 1999 using the Yellow Pages. The company now collaborates with Orient Express and Cheval Blanc. Bagnara's passion for art led to a company 'pensatoio' for his collection, featuring artists like Agostino Bonalumi, Piero Dorazio, and Pablo Atchugarry.
