Gap Launches Handbag Line GapBags with Reed Krakoff
Gap Inc. is launching a new line of handbags called GapBags, led by Reed Krakoff as the Executive Director of Accessories. Krakoff, known for his work revitalizing Coach in the early 2000s and with experience at Tiffany & Co. and John Hardy, plans to capture the essence of the brand in his creations. He describes the collection as reflecting "Iconic American style, simple but not plain… emphasizing the blend of style, utility, and design." Among the offerings is a Five-Pocket Tote inspired by Gap's jeans and a Hoodie Tote featuring the classic arch logo. Priced under $100, these bags prioritize design. The launch coincides with New York Fashion Week, and customization will be available at a pop-up in Rockefeller Center, with online sales starting September 8.
