Galleria Latina Reopens in Rome with 22 Italian Artists in 'Soglie/Thresholds'

Galleria Latina, a renowned gallery in Rome established by Bruno Ciaffi in the 1980s, has reopened in 2026 under the leadership of art historians Chiara Pazzanese and Arianna De Silvio. The first exhibition, titled 'Soglie/Thresholds' and curated by Anna Chiara Della Corte, showcases the works of 22 Italian artists who delve into the idea of thresholds as spaces of transition. This exhibition, featuring painting, sculpture, video installations, and mixed media, will be on display until June 15. Highlights include Michele Ciribifera's steel threshold at the entrance, and works by Alessandro d'Aquila, Michelangelo Bastiani, Valeria Vaccaro, and Nicolas Denino. The ground floor features Daniele Sigalot's airplane installation and Omar Hassan's plexiglass pieces, while upstairs, political themes emerge in the works of Niccolò Tomaini, Sofia Bianchini, and others. Notably, this exhibition exclusively features Italian artists, a stark contrast to the 2026 Venice Biennale, which included no Italians among its 111 participants.
