Galleria Continua's Les Moulins Celebrates 20 Years with Unexpected Artistic Dialogues

Galleria Continua's Les Moulins in Boissy-le-Châtel, France, marks its 20th anniversary with an exhibition running from May 31 to December 20, 2026. Founded in 1990 in San Gimignano, Italy, by Mario Cristiani, Lorenzo Fiaschi, and Maurizio Rigillo, the gallery expanded to a former paper mill in Seine-et-Marne in 2006. The anniversary show, titled "20 ans des Moulins," avoids a retrospective format, instead inviting over 50 contributors—artists, collectors, journalists, and families—to select a memorable work, creating unexpected pairings. Featured artists include Michelangelo Pistoletto, Daniel Buren, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Leila Alaoui, Ai Weiwei, Kader Attia, Eva Jospin, Anish Kapoor, Abel Abdessemed, Sislej Xhafa (with a five-meter bust of Berlusconi made from Libyan sand), and Leandro Erlich (with a VR Pool installation). The site spans 40,000 m² across two locations, including a skatepark and restaurant, and runs a pioneering mediation program called "Continu'Actions" that introduces hundreds of children to art annually. The gallery's philosophy: "We don't make projects to sell. We sell to make projects."
