Galia Ron: Naïve Painter of Hope and Coexistence

Self-taught naïve artist Galia Ron, based in Rosh Pina, Israel, transforms personal hardship into optimistic paintings that envision a kinder world. After a childhood marked by shyness, she found expression through art, later working as a chef, pub owner, jeep tour guide, birdwatching guide, café partner, and mother. In 2022, she closed her chocolate café and devoted herself fully to painting, opening a naïve art gallery in Rosh Pina in June 2023. The October 7, 2023 attacks and subsequent war left her unable to paint until a commission from US supporters produced 'We Will Dance Again,' which restored her creative practice. Ron's work, influenced by Henri Rousseau and Grandma Moses, features radiant colors, welcoming scenes, and transformed landscapes where thorny plants become blossoms and communities gather peacefully. She paints with acrylic on canvas, wood, stones, and flower pots. Ron aspires to participate in exhibitions promoting peace across Israel and the Middle East, ideally a collaborative show with artists committed to coexistence.
