Galerie Sardine and Somerset House Collaborate on Curated Farmhouse in Amagansett

Valentina Akerman's Galerie Sardine has teamed up with Alan Eckstein from Somerset House for a summer collaboration at its Amagansett site, an 18th-century farmhouse. Eckstein will adorn the venue with vintage and antique items sourced from Somerset House's Queens showroom, featuring notable pieces such as a Pierre Jeanneret daybed, a 1920s Poul Henningsen pendant, and a 17th-century pre-Baroque Italian end table. The space will evolve through three exhibitions: 'There, When' with Kritika Manchanda and Rafael Prieto; a collaboration between ceramicist Jane Yang-D'Haene and painter Allan Gandhi; and a final showcase of Susumu Kamijo's paintings alongside ceramics by Sam and Erin Falls. Akerman stated that this partnership enhances the integration of art, design, and everyday life, while Eckstein pointed out highlights like the Ettore Sottsass 'Cometa' floor lamp. The goal is to foster a cozy environment for visitors to engage with art.
