Galerie Lelong Paris Hosts Magnus Plessen and Arlene Shechet Exhibitions This Autumn

exhibition · 2026-10-20

Galerie Lelong's Paris spaces will host concurrent solo presentations by Magnus Plessen and Arlene Shechet starting October 19, 2026, both running through November 14. Plessen, a German painter, shows Théâtre imaginaire, twenty paintings made between 2024 and 2026; the presentation inaugurates his representation by the gallery. Shechet, an American sculptor, presents Kind of Blue, a selection of recent sculptures. The pairing sets two distinct working methods side by side, with memory, physical gesture, imagination and materiality framed as shared terrain. The gallery describes the two shows as contrasting yet complementary readings of human experience. Both exhibitions also mark milestones in Lelong's ties to the artists, with Shechet's presentation following a period in which her work has helped reshape contemporary sculpture.
