Galeria NAC opens dual exhibitions by David Scognamiglio and Valeria Salinas

Galeria NAC in Chile is hosting a double opening on Thursday, June 4 at 7:00 PM, featuring two solo exhibitions: "Desviar Horizontes" by David Scognamiglio and "Debajo de la Espuma" by Valeria Salinas. Scognamiglio, an Italian artist based in Chile, presents works that explore the paradox of living surrounded by light and images yet contemplating less. His exhibition combines light installations in extreme landscapes such as the Salar de Uyuni and the Atacama Desert, with pieces made from discarded screens transformed into unstable visual surfaces. The gallery becomes an immersive journey toward light, where artworks shift with the viewer's movement. Salinas's exhibition delves into the ambiguity between transparency and opacity, permanence and transit, focusing on the intimate and domestic context of the home bathroom. She studies light, color, and composition, playing with distances and viewpoints, sometimes as a distant observer, other times as a participant. The show questions how much to approach and how much to reveal, exploring what lies beneath the ephemeral and repetitive.
