Gala Knörr Explores Club Culture and Rave History at Espacio Santa Catalina in Badajoz

At Espacio Santa Catalina in Badajoz, Gala Knörr presents her exhibition 'Suave es la noche,' showcasing artworks created between 2020 and 2026 that delve into club culture, nightlife, and rave scenes. The collection features contributions from cities like London, Antwerp, Bilbao, and Ibiza, investigating the relationship between partying and protest. Knörr's exploration began with a 2019 film documenting the People's Vote March in London, which led to the creation of 'Alodoxafobia,' accompanied by sound design from Pablo Chimenti. This video draws parallels to the Freedom To Party demonstration that took place thirty years ago. Notable pieces include 'CLOSER,' 'We wanna be free,' and T-shirt-shaped canvases inspired by the 1992 Castlemorton rave. The exhibition is open until November 2026.
