Frieze LA Benefit Auction Raises Funds for Hurricane and Wildfire Relief
During Frieze Los Angeles, a fundraising auction titled 'Get Up Stand Up: Artists for Jamaica and Los Angeles' was held on February 26 at a private Hollywood venue. Organized by CORE and TBA21–Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, the event aimed to support recovery from Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and wildfires in Los Angeles. Auctioneer Simon de Pury led the live sale, which generated over $500,000, with additional works available online. Featured artists included Nari Ward, Alberta Whittle, and Hank Willis Thomas, among others. The benefit was produced by Rachael Barrett and Lauren Taschen, with proceeds directed to CORE's long-term recovery efforts and Emergency Response Fund.
