Francis Offman Curates 'Soglia / Common Acts' at Società delle Api in Rome

The non-profit organization Società delle Api, founded by Silvia Fiorucci, inaugurated its new venue in a historic palazzo on Via Gregoriana in Rome with the group exhibition 'Soglia / Common Acts,' curated by Rwandan-born, Italy-based artist Francis Offman. The show runs from April 22 to September 23, 2026, and features works by artists including Epaminonda, Lina Bo Bardi, Alvar Aalto, Camoni, Francis Alÿs, Carla Accardi, and Ettore Spalletti, alongside new tapestries and jacquard textiles by Offman himself. The exhibition explores the concept of thresholds—between spaces, styles, and actions—drawing on philosopher Giorgio Agamben's ideas about the liminal nature of action. Offman's use of coffee, a recurring element in his work, infuses the space with a roasted aroma that blends with the building's aged wood scent. The palazzo itself is a stylistic amalgam of Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical, and Liberty elements. Furniture by Martin Eisler, Carlo Huner, and Agnes Studio invites visitors to pause, while Sol Calero's 'Interior llanero' and Spalletti's 'Vuoto pastello azzurro' punctuate the journey. The exhibition is viewable by appointment only, Monday to Friday 11:00–18:00, with group visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays 14:00–18:00.
