Francesco Ruggiero: First Male Model on Vogue Greece Cover, Eyes Gucci Runway

Francesco Ruggiero, a 26-year-old model based in Athens and signed to D Model Agency, landed the June cover of Vogue Greece — the first time a male model has fronted the magazine, which previously featured only famous actors. Discovered in summer 2019 after his sister visited an agency and was told to bring him along, he stayed in the industry while she quit. His first runway was likely a Giorgio Armani show, where he wore a silk tuxedo. He cites a Steven Meisel shoot for Dolce & Gabbana as his favorite job, noting few male models have worked with the photographer. During COVID in Milan he shared a cheap apartment with two friends, at one point all sleeping in one double bed.
