Four Seasons Cartagena Opens in Getsemaní with Design by WATG and Catroux

The 131-key Four Seasons Cartagena has opened in the Getsemaní neighborhood, marking the luxury brand's debut in Colombia. The hotel occupies a collection of historic buildings, including the Cloister of Saint Francis and the original Club Cartagena, restored by architecture firm WATG. Interiors were designed by François Catroux, Wimberly Interiors, and AvroKO, featuring works by Colombian artist Miguel Cárdenas. The property includes two rooftop pools, the Umari Spa, and multiple dining venues such as El Palomar rooftop bar and Major Food Group's first South American restaurant, The Grand Grill. The hotel offers colonial-style and contemporary rooms, with a two-bedroom presidential suite accessed by private elevator. Located steps from the Walled City and Parque Centenario, the hotel partners with Galavanta for bespoke experiences. The project involved rebuilding some structures while restoring sacred spaces like the cloister's courtyard with four banyan trees over 100 years old. The hotel aims to capture Cartagena's Caribbean charisma while providing resort-style amenities.
