Four Fall Exhibitions in Italy: From Sarfatti to Ronis

Four major exhibitions opening in Italy this September span art history, photography, and painting. At the Mart in Rovereto and the Museo del Novecento in Milan, a dual-venue retrospective on Margherita Sarfatti, the influential critic and promoter of Italian art between the wars, features works by Boccioni, Casorati, de Chirico, and Sironi. In Turin, CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la Fotografia presents 'CAMERA POP' from September 21 to January 13, exploring how Pop Art visual culture influenced photography through over 120 works by Warhol, Hamilton, Schifano, Rauschenberg, and others. Venice's Casa dei Tre Oci hosts a retrospective of Willy Ronis (1910–2009), a key figure in French humanist photography, from September 6 to January 6, with 120 vintage prints including ten previously unseen images of Venice. Finally, Palazzo Roverella in Rovigo opens 'Arte e Magia' on September 29, examining esoteric currents in European painting from Symbolism to the Historical Avant-Gardes, featuring artists such as Redon, Kandinsky, Rodin, Munch, and Klee.
