Foster + Partners Unveils Al Najd Agricultural City Master Plan in Oman
Foster + Partners, in partnership with Dar Al-Handasah, has unveiled plans for the Al Najd Agricultural City in Dhofar, Oman. Supported by the Ministries of Housing and Urban Planning as well as Agriculture, the initiative corresponds with Oman Vision 2040. Spanning around 54 million square feet, the city aims to accommodate 13,000 residents and create 6,500 jobs. It will emphasize sustainability with pedestrian-friendly paths, reliable public transport, and essential amenities like schools and healthcare facilities. Agricultural projects will focus on date palms, greenhouse vegetables, industrial crops, and agro-processing for products such as dried foods and oils.
