Foster + Partners designs Muku task chair for Okamura

British architecture firm Foster + Partners has designed the Muku task chair for Japanese furniture brand Okamura. The chair features a simple silhouette with adjustable seat depth and recline angle, prioritizing comfort for office, commercial, and home settings. Available in light grey, dark grey, red, and black, it includes layered-cushion lumbar support and armrests in fixed or adjustable options. The structure uses recycled aluminium, and the mesh fabric upholstery is made from recycled fishing nets. Okamura describes the design as rooted in visual simplicity and controlled geometry, adaptable to different contexts while maintaining a consistent identity.
