Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel Celebrates 35 Years with Dual Exhibition of Efrain Almeida and Ernesto Neto
From August 15, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel (FDAG) in São Paulo is presenting a dual exhibition that includes Efrain Almeida's first posthumous showcase alongside new pieces by Ernesto Neto, celebrating the gallery's 35th anniversary. Curated by Márcia Fortes, this is her first curatorial project in a quarter of a century. Almeida's wooden sculptures delve into themes of identity and solitude, while Neto's crochet creations highlight the vibrancy of nature. The retrospective of Almeida spans more than 30 years, notably excluding his iconic hummingbird sculptures. Neto's installation draws inspiration from his 2010 "Dengo" exhibition at MAM São Paulo. Established in August 2001 by Fortes and Alessandra D'Aloia, the gallery upholds Marcantonio Vilaça's mission to promote Brazilian art internationally.
