Former Eberhard Faber Pencil Factory in Greenpoint Transformed into Content Creator Hub The Lighthouse Brooklyn
In February 2025, the historic Eberhard Faber Pencil Factory in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, was repurposed into The Lighthouse Brooklyn, a 30,000-square-foot club for content creators, thanks to Warkentin Associates and Bench Architecture. This innovative space boasts recording studios, podcast areas, photo studios, a theater, a bar, a cafe, and a DJ booth. Nathan Warkentin crafted adaptable environments featuring flexible seating and diverse backdrops. Notable elements include the Library Bar, a wood-paneled test kitchen equipped with ceiling rigging, and sound-optimized podcast studios. The interiors showcase TECTUM acoustic panels and bespoke furniture from local artisans. The project was commissioned by The Lighthouse/Whalar Group, with SPL as the AV consultant, Stantec as the MEP engineer, and Cub Craft as the contractor. Previously, the building housed Kickstarter offices.
