FLXBL Completes Solidus, an 18,000 sq ft Monolithic Family House in Ahmedabad

architecture-design · 2026-10-07

In Ahmedabad, India, FLXBL, under the leadership of Cunal Parmar and the supervision of Arivanandh Manirathinam, has finalized a private residence spanning 18,000 sq ft, known as Solidus (Private Residence No. 09). The structure showcases a monolithic design with shuttered concrete walls, incorporating voids such as a basement courtyard and terraces on the upper floors, which facilitate natural light, ventilation, and landscape integration. The landscaping employs native plants, along with systems for rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and automated irrigation for solar shading. FLXBL was responsible for the architecture, interiors, furnishings, and landscaping. The layout includes a great room, kitchen, and two ensuite bedrooms on the ground floor, while the first floor features a lounge, study, and three bedrooms, with a common terrace on the second floor. Photography credits go to Harsh Pandya and Arivanandh Manirathinam.
