Florian Cornut Creates Modular Packaging Identity for Café Gardo
Florian Cornut, an art director, created a modular packaging system for Café Gardo, an artisan coffee roastery established by Frank Soccio in Camblanes-et-Meynac, France. The brand's name signifies the meeting point of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. This roastery specializes in sourcing beans from agroforestry farms and emphasizes low-carbon transportation via sail. Cornut's branding incorporates warm harvest hues, raw photographic textures from Grant Harder, and a typographic blend of Bolota by Gabriel Pang for GARDO and ABC Repro Mono for notes. The modular design features color-coded headers for single-origin offerings and includes detailed tasting dossiers with information on elevation, processing, roast dates, and producer credits, such as Claudia Lovo. An illustrated mascot by Baptiste De Almeida highlights the communal aspect of brewing.
