other · 2026-09-17

A dual survey carried out by FLASHS for Ymanci from July 6 to July 8, 2026, focused on 1,000 young adults aged 23 to 34 who live with their parents and 1,000 parents who provide housing for an adult child. Due to escalating living expenses, around 4.1 million French adults in this demographic are cohabiting. Interestingly, 74% of these young adults are employed, with 48% holding permanent positions, and only 10% are without jobs. Financial concerns dominate, as 28% earn between 1,301 and 1,900 euros monthly. The average age for leaving the parental home in France is 23.8 years. Additionally, 89% of young adults contribute to household expenses, while 83% of parents note increased costs. Behavioral regression is prevalent, with 89% displaying adolescent characteristics.
