Five Hardware Collections Elevate Functional Details to Design Statements
Azure Magazine highlights five hardware collections that transform utilitarian objects into expressive design elements, reflecting a shift from minimalism toward personality-driven interiors. SPACES WITHIN, a Stockholm brand, launched sculptural wall hooks (Iris, Noor, Luis, Gavi) made in Florence from solid recycled brass, with a new satin nickel finish. At its Milan showroom, Verum debuted three Nuda collection additions during Design Week: SERIE 85 by Kensaku Oshiro, Nora by Brian Sironi, and Bik by Vittorio Grassi, each exploring aluminum's materiality. Colombo Design America introduced Laconica, designed by engineer Alberto Meda, featuring conical returns and angular handles in PVD and painted finishes including Umber Bronze, Dark Green, and Cherry. Bankston's Streaks collection, a collaboration with Sydney's YSG Studio directed by Yasmine Ghoniem, uses sustainably sourced timber with two-tone banding (Light Band, Dark Band, Colour Band) and hand-sandcast bronze options. Bocci's 22 System teamed with Crosby Studios for Plug-It, an interactive installation at fairs like Matter and Shape and 3daysofdesign, showcasing cylindrical outlets that integrate into surfaces and the new Blue Connecté colourway.
