Final Cut in Venice Announces Six Post-Production Films for 14th Edition
The 14th edition of Final Cut in Venice has chosen six films to support post-production efforts from Africa and six Middle Eastern nations. This initiative will take place from September 6-8, 2026, as part of the Venice Production Bridge during the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, which runs from September 2-12, 2026, under the direction of Alberto Barbera. The films selected are "A Quarter to Thursday" by Sofia Djama, "Eldorado, the Taste of the South" by Alaa Eddine Aljem, "Madi Makambu" by Machérie Ekwa Bahango, "Mehal Sefari" by Abraham Gezahagne, "Occupational Hazards" by Bassel Ghandour, and "Plague" by Youssef Chebbi. Awards include €10,000 for the best film and various in-kind services, with additional backing from the Red Sea Film Foundation and co-financing from the MEDIA programme.
