Ferrari Wins at The Quail; Chinati Restores Judd; Brussels Flower Carpet Honors Hokusai
At The Quail during Monterey Car Week, Bruce Meyer’s 1957 Ferrari 625/250 Testarossa took home the Best of Show award among more than 200 contenders. Originally built for John von Neumann, this Ferrari notched up 11 wins in 1957 before receiving a V12 engine upgrade. As a result of this victory, the car joined the Rolex Circle of Champions and Meyer received an engraved Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36. Other significant honors went to a 1965 Porsche 911 for the Spirit of The Quail, a 1962 Lincoln Continental for the Hagerty Drivers Foundation Award, and a 1994 Lamborghini Diablo VT JOTA for the Magneto Editor's Choice. In other news, the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas, plans to restore Donald Judd's Artillery Sheds, Brussels unveiled the 24th Flower Carpet by Hiro Sugiyama, the Picha Art and Research Center in Lubumbashi, DRC, launched a GoFundMe for €10,000, and David Shrigley will host a solo show at Dulwich Picture Gallery from May 25 to September 5, 2027.
