Faye Toogood designs surreal vegan bistro Holy Carrot in London's Spitalfields

Faye Toogood, a designer from the UK, has created an enchanting dining experience at Holy Carrot Bistro's new location in Spitalfields Market, London. The bistro, launched by Irina Linovich, features Toogood's unique sculptural approach, incorporating natural elements like tiles, steel, linoleum, and canvas. The space is brought to life with hand-painted murals of large vegetables and figures, blending human and nature aesthetics. Executive chef Daniel Watkins, who co-founded Acme Fire Cult, along with head chef Maria Criscuolo, focuses on seasonal produce using fire, fermentation, and spices. Standout dishes include coal-roasted beetroot with ezme and tempeh schnitzel with celeriac remoulade. Located at 61, 63 Brushfield St, London E1 6AA, the bistro’s vibe transforms from practical during the day to dramatic at night, illuminated by candlelight and dressed in white tablecloths.
