Fausto Amundarain's First German Solo Exhibition at Galerie Heike Strelow

Venezuelan artist Fausto Amundarain, born in Caracas in 1992 and now living in Madrid, is holding his first solo exhibition in Germany at Galerie Heike Strelow in Frankfurt am Main. Titled The Pretender’s Attrezzo, the show features a new collection of paintings that explore identity, representation, and memory using collage-like techniques created only with paint. Through methods like layering and trompe-l’œil, Amundarain blends surfaces and spaces, along with images and objects. His work draws inspiration from Synthetic Cubism, Robert Rauschenberg, Sigmar Polke, and aspects of theater and film. The term attrezzo reflects the construction of identity, with his art acting as stages for identities to emerge or vanish, incorporating autobiographical fragments. His artworks are part of various collections in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, and the U.S.
