Farquhar and Ribe's 'FOR NOW' at ORTHUNGA

The exhibition 'FOR NOW' at ORTHUNGA in Vordingborg pairs Keith Farquhar and Torben Ribe. Farquhar debuts works using dye sublimation on polyester fur, transferring diaristic phone images onto a surface that flattens the picture while the pile splays at edges. Four short videos, assembled from accidental recordings found among source images, accompany the fur pieces. Ribe contributes abstract TV stands welded with Robert Jacobsen's machine, decorated with his father's image, displaying Farquhar's videos. New paintings on woodchip wallpaper and a stall of handmade objects by Ribe's children are shown. Ribe replaced blown bulbs in ORTHUNGA's chandelier with festive alternatives found online. Farquhar (b. 1969, Edinburgh) and Ribe (b. 1978, Vordingborg) both explore everyday aesthetics and materiality.
