Faraway Sag Harbor Opens as Year-Round Community Hub

The Faraway Sag Harbor hotel opened in June 2025 after a seven-month renovation of the historic Baron's Cove property, acquired by Blue Flag Capital. The 67-room boutique hotel aims to serve both tourists and year-round residents, staying open except for a brief January closure. Designed by Jenny Bukovec Studio, the interiors feature maritime touches honoring Sag Harbor's whaling history. Amenities include a speakeasy called Pearl's Room, a restaurant Zagara serving Amalfi Coast-inspired cuisine by chef Jared McCarroll, a lobby bar, pool, padel courts, complimentary bikes, and a spa with ONDA Beauty summer residency. Managing director Eric Freitas Orford emphasizes community integration, with spaces like the lobby lounge and fire pits open to all. The hotel's signature fragrance is by Maison 21G, and staff wear Alex Mill uniforms.
