Family Workshop at Belvedere: Move it! with Erika Giovanna Klien

The Belvedere museum in Vienna is hosting a family-oriented workshop titled 'Move it!' as part of its 'Für Familien' series. The event, scheduled at the Unteres Belvedere, focuses on the works of Austrian artist Erika Giovanna Klien (1900–1957), a prominent figure of the Vienna Kineticism movement. Participants will explore Klien's dynamic paintings, which depict dancing bodies, flying birds, and whirling machines, and then translate that energy into physical movement accompanied by music. The workshop includes a pop-up atelier where families can experiment with forms to visualize motion. Designed for children aged 3–10 with their families, the event requires at least one adult per three children, and all adults must purchase a valid event ticket (including admission). No discounts apply for Belvedere Gold Pass or Friends of the Belvedere, but reduced wienXtra rates are available for children with a valid kinderaktiv-Card. Adult companions with a Kulturpass attend free. The workshop is organized in cooperation with an unnamed partner. This hands-on event aims to make art accessible to young audiences, fostering creativity and physical engagement with artistic concepts.
