Facades+ Conference Returns to Boston on July 23

The Facades+ conference series returns to Boston on Thursday, July 23, at the Westin Copley Place, co-chaired by Bruner / Cott Architects. The day includes a spotlight session with architect Vincent Appel of Of Possible and contractor Nick Schiffer of NS Builders, moderated by Jason Jewhurst, discussing three residential facades. Danniely Staback Rodríguez (STUDIO ENÉE) and Rita Terjeki (Annum Architects) present La CASA, a 26,500-square-foot community space for Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, moderated by Stephanie Salsman. After lunch, Mehmet Noyan (Herzog & de Meuron), Gerry Gutierrez (Sasaki), and Justin Den Herder (TYLin) detail the mass timber facade of Amherst College's new Student Center and Dining Commons, moderated by George Gard. A roundtable on bio-based enclosures features Chris Hardy (MASS Design Group), Billy Craig (BC Productions), and Suzanne Robinson (LeMessurier), moderated by Christopher Nielsen. The final session covers Gund Hall's renovation with George Gard, Troy Hein (Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope), and John Jackson (SGH), moderated by Jason Jewhurst.
